Community Clean-Up

The 2024 Community Clean Up is complete.

"Bear Jaw, along with The Highlands Fire District, would like to thank United Rentals of Flagstaff for allowing us the use of two dump bed trailers for the Pine Needle Pickup.  These trailers allowed the crew to pick up bags and slash in a more efficient manner.  We cannot thank United Rentals enough and encourage you to consider them for any future equipment rental needs!"

The Community Clean-up occurs every year in the spring (around end of April) prior to the Bear Jaw Interagency Fire and Fuels Crew going available for fires outside the Fire District boundaries. Fliers are mailed out and electronic signs are posted to let the public know. Clear bags are handed out free of charge, but you can get ahead of the curve and purchase your own clear bags and bag up your dry needles prior to pick-up date.

The Bear Jaw Interagency Fire & Fuels Crew is helping residents and property owners create defensible space by providing free pickup and disposal for branches, logs, small trees, leaves and pine needles. If you clear woody vegetation from around your home and stack it in a slash pile, we will chip it and haul it away.
