Tom Hanecak
Tom was born and raised in a small town in the northwestern corner of Connecticut and is the youngest of three boys. He received his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Saint Michael’s College in 2001. Shortly after graduation, Tom left for Gabon, Africa with the Peace Corps where he served as an Environmental Education Volunteer until 2004. When he returned from Africa, he moved to Flagstaff, Arizona in 2007 and started work with Coconino County. Tom spent ten years with the Parks and Recreation Department and then transferred to the Facilities Management Department where he has worked for the last eight years. He holds the position of Director of Facilities Management for Coconino County. Tom values both public service and volunteering; and currently, he serves on two boards: Flagstaff Archers and the Highlands Fire District Governing Board. In his spare time, he is pursuing a master's degree in public administration at NAU, spends time in the garden, woodworking, hunting, skiing, flyfishing, and spends as much time outdoors as possible.
Chairperson Tom Hanecak has served on the Board since December 15, 2020.
